About Birmingham HPB Clinic
Specialist Consultants
We are a group of consultants who specialise in treating patients with benign and cancerous conditions affecting the liver (Hepatic), pancreas (Pancreatic), and gallbladder/bile ducts (Biliary). We have a well established team approach to patient care, which has been developed through many years of working together at the internationally recognised Birmingham Liver Unit, which is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The Birmingham HPB Clinic aims to replicate the exceptionally high standards of patient care that we strive for in the NHS, into the private sector.
Our consultants have years of experience treating patients with the full range of HPB conditions, and we have particular expertise in keyhole surgery for gallstones, as well as treating patients with cancers affecting the liver, pancreas and biliary tract. For patients with cancer, we work closely with our multidisciplinary team, which includes highly experienced oncologists, radiologists and hepatologists.
Our patients benefit from having their case reviewed at a specialist HPB Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, and we can offer state of the art treatments with a personalised approach. Our surgeons are experienced in performing highly complex cancer surgery, and we can provide a second opinion for patients who have been diagnosed with an inoperable HPB cancer.
