Haider trained in medical oncology in West Midlands.  He has a passion for research and was awarded a Ph.D. for his work in receptor pharmacology. Haider has published work in multiple peer reviewed journals and been an invited speaker at national and international conferences.

Haider was appointed as a consultant in medical oncology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in 2018. He specializes in treatment of cholangiocarcinoma, liver, pancreatic, adrenal and lung cancer. Haider is an expert in the delivery of chemotherapy, targeted treatments and immunotherapy. He is keen for his patients to have access to new treatments and therefore is the principal investigator of a number of clinical trials. Haider also sits on various national and international oncology advisory boards.
