Sharan Wadhwhani
Consultant Radiologist
I qualified from the University of Leeds Medical School in 2004 and completed Specialist Radiology Training in Manchester in 2012, with a special interest in Abdominal Imaging and Interventions. After a specialist Fellowship in Toronto, Canada, one of the largest living donor transplant units in North America, I returned to the UK to work in Worcestershire where I led a range of Imaging services including Liver, Pancreatic, Biliary, Gastrointestinal and Urological Imaging. During this period of my career, I designed and developed an Endoscopic Ultrasound service for local patients, to improve access to cancer services and enhance pathways.
Since joining the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Imaging Department in 2018, I have further specialised in HPB imaging and EUS and regularly contribute to the Cancer MDT. As the HPB Clinical Subspecialty Lead across the Trust, I organise the service with a group of excellent clinical colleagues. I continue to support the EUS service and Cancer MDT at Worcestershire.
I currently contribute to national Societal work within BSGAR (the British Society for Gastro-intestinal and Abdominal Radiology) and JAG (the Joint Advisory Group to the British Society for Gastroenterology) on the Quality and Training Committee. I review and publish regularly for peer-reviewed Journals. I regularly deliver lectures at Imaging and Clinical conferences. I currently deliver training for trainees in my role as Royal College of Radiologists College Tutor for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Imaging Department.
